The Brief

I have attended many classic car shows over the years, and at one particular show we saw a classic car that stood out to both my wife and I. The car in question is a Jowett Jupiter and my wife has said that if she could have a classic car, then this would be the one. I took some photos of the car at one of the shows so I could draw a picture of it. I love the chrome, reflection and paintwork on this car.

The Result

This took 20 hours to draw and the actual drawing is only around 20 centimetres long. There is a lot of detail in this considering the size of the drawing, particularly in the reflection on the chrome hub caps on the wheels. Drawing the reflection on the floor along with the shadows adds depths to the picture, and gives the drawing a real, almost 3D effect. I now take this as an example piece to all the shows I attend.
